A social group for 4th and 5th grade boys with autism spectrum disorder is starting in December on Monday afternoons at 3:15pm in the Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn. The group is run by Carolyn Kessler, Ph.D., a licensed psychologist with a specialty in autism spectrum disorders. Using a cognitive behavioral approach to learning social skills, the group will focus on issues such as having reciprocal conversations, regulating emotions, learning to read social situation and interactions accurately, and managing bullies.
