Dr. Shirley Pollak leads a team of highly competent and professional audiologists with over 50 years of combined experience. Dr. Pollak has been serving the Brooklyn community in clinical practice for 21 years. Prior to establishing her private practice, she served as Chief of Audiology and Speech at a local medical center, where she established and maintained the first newborn hearing screening program in Brooklyn. Dr. Pollak obtained her Clinical Doctorate in Audiology in October 2001. She has written a number of articles regarding hearing healthcare, published in local papers. Dr. Pollak taught Pediatric Audiology at the Master’s Degree level at CUNY, and has supervised and mentored many graduate and doctoral students of Audiology. RICHARD KAHN

M.S., REGISTERED DIETITIAN

Richard Kahn is a Registered Dietitian with interests in feeding problems in typical and atypically developing children experiencing pickiness, refusals, failure to thrive or other weight gain concerns. He is currently a researcher at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine Dept. of Family and Social Medicine and working in diverse clinical settings. He has over 15 years experience with families with young children and 10 years experience with children with developmental delays. Richard has published and co-authored papers on bottle feeding, has presented at professional meetings and is currently researching a method to help parents wean their children off the bottle. In addition, he is writing a dissertation in the CUNY Graduate Center Dept. of Social Welfare. His work is based using developmental, play and family strategies to address eating problems. Even when physical or other delays exist, the developmental and other internal needs of the child must be addressed to support adequate nutrition and response from other service providers offer nutritional services for children between 6 months and 5 years of age. His primary focus is on feeding behavior that prevents parents from providing nutritionally adequate meals for their children. Richard helps teach age appropriate, family-style methods to decrease struggles and refusals. His approach is fun and practical. Richard offers coached meals. Once the struggles are over, he can go over any shortfalls in the family diet that are concerning. All services are provided right at your table and are based on your lifestyle.
